FORMER junior energy minister Kern spencer and his co accused in the Cuban light bulb trial is to return to the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on January 31.

The date was set today after the court was informed that the High Court has still not handed down its decision in a motion by Director of Public Prosecutions Paula Llewellyn, against Senior Magistrate Judith Pusey.

Pusey had filed a reuqest that Llewellyn take the witness stand to answer questions about what transpired at a meeting that resulted in charges against then co accused Rodney Chin being dropped and him becoming a prosecution witness.

Spencer and Coleen Wright are facing corruption, fraud and money laundering charges over their handling of the Cuban light bulb project.

Spencer...charged along with personal assistant Colleen Wright, for fraud in relation to light bulb scandal.
