ROSEAU, Dominica, Monday December 10, 2012 – Four people, including a Colombian national, have been detained by police following the seizure of 70 kilogrammes of cocaine on a boat off the west coast of the island on Monday.
A police spokesman the Coast Guard and members of the Drug Squad mounted a joint operation that led to the seizure of the cocaine. The street value of the drug was not disclosed
He said three Dominican nationals were also assisting the police with their investigations and that an open keel boat powered by two 200 horse power engines had also been seized.
The police also said that on Sunday in the west coast village of Massacre, law enforcement authorities detained one man after seven kilogrammes of cocaine had been found in a vehicle in which he was the sole occupant.
