Greetings and Blessings to all my fans, promoters, family and friends who have been awaiting my arrival for performances right across the United States.
I regret to announce that whilst crossing the border from Canada to into America by air on August 25th 2016, I underwent an abnormal interrogation during which my personal hand luggage was searched. During the search a mixture that I normally use as a herb medicine for my throat was found and after numerous tests was claimed to be illegal because it contained cannabis extracts. The herbal liquid was a very small amount (less than one gram), but as a result my visas were revoked and I was denied entry into the US.
I sincerely regret the inconvenience and disappointment that this will cause as I am also deeply devastated. Please pray for me while I face yet another major obstacle in my life.
In the meantime, we are pursuing all avenues to appeal and hopefully reverse the decision as soon as possible. Also, please note that this will not affect any bookings that I have in countries anywhere else in the world, apart from North America.
So please keep the faith...Jah Bless.

This, since the artiste was only fined a total of $2,400 for the possession of and attempting to export marijuana. The conviction was also not recorded at the behest of the singer's attorney.

When Luciano appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday, his mother was by his side. The singer's attorney, Hugh Wilson, during a lengthy submission pleaded with Resident Magistrate Martin Gayle not to mar his client's career.

On Monday, Wilson had requested that sentencing be postponed because he was challenging the amount of marijuana allegedly found in his client's possession.

At that time the police claimed that McClymoth was found with four ounces of marijuana in his luggage. However, Wilson claimed that Luciano was found with less than an ounce. The court then decided to wait until the official certificate verifying the weight of the drug from the Government Forensic Laboratory was available.

Yesterday, however, before the certificate was presented in court, Wilson withdrew their opposition to the weight the police had stated, and said that they would agree with whatever was stated on the certificate. The certificate said that the singer did have four ounces of marijuana in his possession.

Despite this, Wilson maintained that his client had no intention of breaking the law. He claimed that because his client was a Rastafarian, he used marijuana medicinally, spiritually and for culinary purposes. He said that his client normally kept his marijuana in his suitcase and forgot to remove it when he was going on his trip.

Wilson begged that his client's conviction not be recorded because it would hurt his because it would hurt his musical career. He told the court that his client was preparing for tours to Japan and the United States of America. As a result, Wilson said, he would need to get work permits and in order to do so, a police record would have to be furnished. If this incident was recorded, then it could prevent him from obtaining the work permit and thus end Luciano's career.

RM Gayle fined McClymoth $400 or 10 days in prison for possession of marijuana and $2000 or 10 days for attempting to export the narcotic.

With regards to not putting the conviction on record, R.M Gayle began by saying, "In sentencing a person, the court must look to reform and not destroying a person's life. The punishment must be one suitable for the offence. I myself must say that I respect his lyrics. I will yield to your submission, that is all I will say."

McClymoth was held on Friday, May 23 during a routine check of luggage being loaded onto Air Jamaica flight 017, which was destined for New York. Police said that two rectangular packages that were inside his suitcase were found to contain marijuana. The singer was then arrested and charged.

Log in Register Full Site Top
Powered by vBulletin® Version 4.2.0
Copyright © 2016 vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
